Exhibit runs from July 6–August 24
ARTIST STATEMENT
It's never been easier to visit distant lands. Travel to many countries once thought hopelessly difficult to do can be booked with the click of a mouse button. Laughing, smiling, and sharing a photographic moment with people of different cultures can be a humbling and illuminating experience. Those in our own cities and countryside can also present fascinating portrayals of their lives. The human condition is vast and wide and expressions of joy, fear, happiness, sadness, community and contentment are common to all. Cultural differences notwithstanding, universalities can be found in every culture, every land. In an effort to foster an appreciation of our fellow travelers, the Wasatch Camera Club brings you face to face with our local and global neighbors. Celebrating the universal us, we present Global Villagers: Portraits from a World Community.
ARTIST BIO
Holding the belief that photographic prints are the highest expression of the craft of photography, the club underscores its commitment by encouraging members to print, frame and hang their finest works. This exhibit is evidence of the level of talent, the beauty of great print-making and the joy of presentation through careful curation. Founded in 1994, the club's mission is to promote technical skill-building through lectures, workshops, and critiques, as well as to develop an aesthetic view of the art of photography.
