About the Artist
Sen Wisher
Wed, Aug 13, 7pm
I have been playing under the moniker Sen Wisher on-and-off in Utah for over a decade now, a shapeshifting band and project I use to explore conceptual imagery via strange indie rock songs of sentimental yearning and mystery. Typically I perform with a portable pump organ and guitar with some combination of other musicians including drums and brass and keyboards or other singers but have and do also perform solo. For this concert I plan to perform as a duo with a drummer.
I've released a few albums with this project now — Actual Glow in 2014 and Vacuum Sing in 2016 and working on a new EP at the moment. My most recent Sen Wisher album, Bird Languages, was released on Song Club Records in 2018 and was highlighted by Sub Pop Records on their suggested artists playlist.
In addition to shows as Sen Wisher, I've recently made music for artists and organizations such as Roxanne Gray, Jasmine Stack, Deseret Experimental Opera, and Wasatch Contemporary Dance and performed at the International Bar, Material Contemporary, 12 Minutes Max, and more. You can find my music on streaming platforms as well as on Bandcamp (senwisher.bandcamp.com) and in SLCPL's HUM collection.
Considered to be one of the finest Carnegie Libraries in the West, this 8,900 square foot library has two levels. Since its opening in 1918, it has been an important part of city services to Westside residents. The Chapman Branch was completely renovated, including an updated HVAC, following the collapse of the roof during 1993. A major remodel of the basement level meeting space in 2002 resulted in a much improved children's area and expanded service and collection space for adults on the ground level. A small meeting room is available for public use, and free wi-fi access is provided throughout the library. Street parking is available to the south of the building, and an external book drop is located on the east side of the building for returning library materials after hours.
