Meet at Memory Grove Park for a nature walk to learn about wild plants and observe and record them for scientists! Bring water, sunscreen, walking shoes, and your smartphone or tablet for photos.

Join us on a naturalist-led walk, where you'll learn fun and interesting facts about our local plants. During the walk, we'll also take time to explore, search for, photograph, and identify wild things, with the help of the iNaturalist app.

Participants will also have the option to log their findings in the iNaturalist app, which scientists all over the world use to see trends and data on different species and, ultimately, to advocate for their protection. It's fun, easy, and no scientific background is needed.

From our meeting point at the bridge in Memory Grove Park, we'll walk about half a mile each way along the creek and back, partially on an uneven dirt trail. Come prepared with water, sun protection, and walking shoes, and don't forget your smartphone or tablet to take photos of the wildlife!

This event is one of three City Nature Challenge Events hosted by Salt Lake City Public Library this April. The City Nature Challenge (CNC) is an annual international event to collaboratively record as many wildlife observations as possible during a four-day challenge. People from all over the world explore nature in their neighborhoods and cities to find and document wildlife. With this data we can better protect urban nature globally.
