Join the NASA/JPL Solar System Ambassadors to experience the science of our Sun at three activity stations: Aurora Borealis in a bowl, magnetic fields, and a Sunny Memory Game with space prizes!
Our fascination with the Sun dates back centuries, and it's no wonder why. Our Sun not only warms the planet we live on, making it a place we can live, but also produces the space phenomenon that captures our attention and our imaginations: aurora borealis and solar eclipses, and it even has a "hand" in producing the tails of comets. In late Summer 2018, on a mission to learn more about the star at the center our solar system, NASA's Parker Solar Probe will set out to get within 4 million miles of the Sun, fighting against intense heat, and other forces to gather scientific data we've never had before.
