Kalari Movement focuses on the health and wellness aspects of Kalarippayattu, the ancient martial and healing art from Southern India. This class is beginner-friendly and suitable for anyone age 7+.

Come alone or bring the family, wear moveable clothing, come hydrated and ready to move! Kalari Movement classes are held every 2nd Wednesday at 5pm. This class is taught be instructors from Kalari Movement.

Referred to by some as the Mother of Martial Arts, it is the oldest body/mind movement system recorded. Kalari is a complete practice consisting of dynamic movements, static postures and moving meditations that forge strong, flexible, stable, fatigue resistant bodies and minds. Developed and refined over thousands of years, this practice produces positive results in people of all skill sets and abilities. Kalari is a fun and dynamic way to learn body control, focus the mind and get a full body workout. It is designed to help you be flexible, agile, focused and resistant to injury and fatigue. Learn ancient practices and techniques that will benefit you every day for the rest of your life.

About the branch

This beautiful facility was designed to complement the Rose Park neighborhood with sensitivity to its site on the Jordan River Parkway. An open space plan, with a large community meeting room and outside deck area, will accommodate this growing community for many years.

The south property of the Day-Riverside Branch is home to TreeUtah's EcoGarden, a "food forest" where all members of the community can learn about urban farming and organic gardening. The Day-Riverside Branch has a meeting room available for public use that features tables, chairs, a projector screen, and a piano.

Free parking is available to the west of the building, and free wi-fi access is provided throughout the library.
