Make and create a fun monthly project with a little help from the Library. Pick up your free supply kit, then build it during a live Zoom session. Click on the event title for more details.

With Creative Lab LIVE, you can make and create a fun monthly project with a little help from the Library's awesome Creative Lab staff. First, pick up your free supply kit from any City Library location. Then, tune into a live Zoom session where we'll show you everything you need to know to build that month's project. Finally, share your creation with us and we'll post in our BiblioBoard gallery.

Free kits will be available on a first come, first served basis beginning the third Saturday of each month. The Zoom workshop will happen the following Saturday. Click here for the Zoom link.

If you miss out on the kit, you can gather your own supplies and still participate in the Zoom session. 

Materials List:

(Note: This is an engineering design project. The following is a suggested list of materials, but you can substitute different ones.)

  • Corrugated cardboard
  • Two drinking straws
  • Two wooden skewers
  • Four CDs (that are okay to get scratched)
  • Sponge
  • Paper clip
  • Assorted rubber bands
  • Tape
  • Scissors
  • Flat, hard surface for testing your car
  • Hot-glue gun (optional)
