City Library Teen Squad member, Amrita, has arranged a discussion with Tatiana Schlossberg, author of Inconspicuous Consumption. Together, we'll have a meaningful conversation about the decisions we can make in our everyday lives to be more thoughtful with our environment.

Tatiana Schlossberg will spend about 15 minutes educating everyone on the environmental impact that we might not know we have. Then, Teen Squad Member Amrita will interview Tatiana Schlossberg about sustainability and her recent book, Inconspicuous Consumption. After the presentation and interview, we will hold a Q&A session for kids and teens.
All ages are welcome to attend, however, only teenagers and kids will be able to ask questions.
You can also pick up a Sustainability Kits at the Anderson-Foothill, Chapman, and Marmalade branches, beginning April 19 (while supplies last).
Sustainability Kits include a reusable straw and bamboo toothbrush, inside a reusable bag! Sustainability Kits are only available to teenagers and are not required for the event.
Tatiana Schlossberg is an award-winning journalist and former New York Times Science writer whose work has appeared in The Washington Post, The Atlantic, Vanity Fair, The Boston Globe, Bloomberg, Yale Environment 360, and elsewhere. Her book, Inconspicuous Consumption: The Environmental Impact You Don’t Know You Have, about the unseen environmental and climate impacts of the Internet and technology, food, fashion and fuel, won the Rachel Carson Environment Book Award in 2020. Tatiana worked as an intern at The Vineyard Gazette in Edgartown, MA, and got her start as a municipal reporter at The Record in Bergen County, N.J. She worked for several years at the New York Times as a Science and Climate reporter, and on the Metro desk. She lives in New York.
