Building a Catapult

Make a project with help from the Library's Creative Lab staff. This month: catapults! Pick up a free supply kit from any Library location. Then build it during a live Zoom session.

Make a catapult using craft sticks and rubber bands. Use it to fire soft, safe things like pompoms, marshmallows, or cotton balls. 

Starting Saturday, May 15, you can pick up your Maker Box at any City Library location. Boxes will be available on a first come, first served basis.

Then, join our Creative Lab team on Zoom for a live workshop to learn how to build a Craft Stick Catapult!

If you don't have time to pick up a box, you can still participate in the Zoom call by gathering your own supplies.

Supply List:

• 6 rubber bands
• 7 craft sticks
• Catapult basket (bottle cap, plastic egg, etc)
• pompoms or other projectiles

Tools:

• hot glue gun (or strong adhesive to attach the basket to the craft sticks)
