About the Artists
Lighthouse Logic
Formed in 2019 by Aubrey Sykes and David Nelson, Lighthouse Logic combines catchy vocal melodies with hard hitting guitar work to make a perfect blend of pop and alternative rock, as demonstrated by their songs Change Your Mind Again and Me. They released their debut EP If You Let Me in December 2022 and plan to release a full length album in Summer 2023. They seek to make fun, catchy music that doesn't sell out of the rock scene. Their performances focus on crowd engagement through their excellent songs and contagious energy. Their influences include All Time Low, Jukebox the Ghost, and Charlie Puth.
Monica Pasqual
Pasqual was born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah, daughter of Walter Smith and Spanish artist, Pilar Pobil. She attended East High School and later studied piano performance at the University of Utah. She spent approximately 30 years in the Bay Area creating music, producing albums and touring the US and Europe. In early 2020, at the beginning of the Covid pandemic, Pasqual returned to Salt Lake to be closer to her mother and has been living here since.
The Dirt House
The Dirt House are a sextet based out of Salt Lake City. They describe their music as “genre fluid” and take pride in being made up of multifaceted people who enjoy music from all walks of life and enjoy sharing that with others. They love “jamming” and creating new music on the spot.
Master Kennedy
Kennedy Ezangi, known by his stage name Master Kennedy, is a Congolese producer, sound engineer, singer-songwriter, rapper, guitarist, from Kinshasa, Congo, Democratic Republic of the Congo. Master Kennedy adapts modern styles like Afrobeats, Afro Pop, Reggae music, and hip-hop. Kennedy was born to a musical family – his father was a musician, singer, drummer, and songwriter in a band with Reddy Amisi, Papa Wemba, and Awilo Longomba, and his mother was a traditional singer in a Bandundu group. Kennedy was the first winner of the male vocals competition in Kinshasa, which brought him to the attention of the singer Tifany Mokua, whose gospel group he joined at age 11. He was then signed to a management contract with Jeune Courageux, producer of Gaz Fabilouss, a Congolese rapper. In 2018, he established a studio in Salt Lake City, UT and became a professional producer and sound engineer.
Somebody/Anybody
Somebody/Anybody is a high-energy indie alternative rock band born and raised in Utah! Our upbeat songs and catchy riffs get people moving and the good vibes flowing. Our sound is rooted in '90s-style grunge and alternative rock with a modern pop flair, danceable beats, and lyrics that might get stuck in your head (in the best way!) Our message is one of positivity, community, perseverance, and friendship. Somebody/Anybody knows how to bring the fun and we promise you'll leave our show feeling more joyful than when you arrived!
Angie Petty
Raised in a family full of musicians, music was a natural calling for Salt Lake City based artist Angie Petty. Taking influence from artists like Amy Winehouse, India Arie, and Moonchild, Angie’s unique sound sparkles in a pop/jazz world with a smoothness that will leave you wanting more. Packed with an arsenal full of tools, Petty is hands on when it comes to producing, arranging, writing, performing and recording her music. Pettys talents have lended opportunities in sharing stages with the likes of Grammy Award Winning artist Jon Batiste, Melvin Jones, Philip Lassiter and Elliot Yamin. In 2021, Angie released her debut album “Timing,” landing her song “Love Letter” on multiple Spotify editorial placements. Angie’s goal is to share her experience with understated yet vulnerable lyrics to remind people they are never alone in their experience. A hidden gem in the making, Angie Petty is a voice to watch.
The Sprague Branch's high-gabled English Tudor style building has served the Sugar House community for three generations. The building was selected by the American Library Association in 1935 as the "Most Beautiful Branch Library in America." The two-level facility was opened in 1928 and has been renovated several times as use continues to increase. An expansion project to add a new public meeting room and remodel the building was completed in April 2001, which increased the square footage to 13,058. As the Sugar House shopping district sprouted up, the Sprague Branch continues to hold its historical charm and provide community members with outstanding public library services. Free parking is available to the east and south of the building, and free wi-fi access is provided throughout the library.
