About the Artists
Cassette Drift
Aaron Valentine and Mike Smith, the duo that are Cassette Drift, are heavily influenced by darkwave and shoegaze pioneers like the Cocteau Twins, Drab Majesty and Slowdive in particular. Expect echoey guitar, hollowed, haunted vocals, vibrating, bright and high, repeating layers of synths to add texture and feeling. In our four years in existence, Cassette Drift has released two self-produced albums and five singles. We are very active in building the electronic music scene in Utah...across all genres. We are primary members of the SLC Synth Alliance, a local collective of electronic music artists. We have hosted, organized, and played in several shows showcasing local talent at Quarters DLC, The International, and at local Synth Open Mic Nights.
Number One Babe Team
Indie-rock band, Number One Babe Team, was officially formed at the beginning of 2022. The band recently released their debut album, See You Later, in May 2023. Number One Babe Team draws inspiration from indie-rock projects like Soccer Mommy and Snail Mail. Their dynamic live performances integrate jazz inspired ballads, retro electronic elements, and psychedelic soundscapes.
Zivio
Zivio has been playing exciting folk music from Eastern Europe for over 30 years. We play music from Bulgaria, North Macedonia, Slovenia, Serbia, Bosnia and many other Eastern European countries.
This beautiful facility was designed to complement the Rose Park neighborhood with sensitivity to its site on the Jordan River Parkway. An open space plan, with a large community meeting room and outside deck area, will accommodate this growing community for many years.
The south property of the Day-Riverside Branch is home to TreeUtah's EcoGarden, a "food forest" where all members of the community can learn about urban farming and organic gardening. The Day-Riverside Branch has a meeting room available for public use that features tables, chairs, a projector screen, and a piano.
Free parking is available to the west of the building, and free wi-fi access is provided throughout the library.
