12 Minutes Max is a curated monthly performance series featuring experimental short works by local artists in many different disciplines.
Jeremy Devine will present All The Times I’ve Died, a comedic and nostalgic reflection on death and doom; combining video, music, and performance piece. Jeremy adopts the persona of Poor form, a being reflecting on its past lives and horrific ends while its new and old identities vie for control. Who or what will be on stage by the end of the performance?
Ava Kostia will screen her film SUGARHIGH. Inspired by Delusion Angel, written by David Jewell, the film began as a collaboration for live performance between musician St. Moan and dancers/choreographers Sophia Heiner and Tori Meyer, later working with Matthew Heckmann (music production/cello/backing vocals), Nora Lang (camera/lighting), and Katie Roche (camera/lighting). Ava Kostia, known by her musician moniker St. Moan, is a singer-songwriter, actor, director, and multimedia artist. Since earning her degree in acting from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, Ava has performed and directed for stage and screen productions across the U.S. and United Kingdom. St. Moan’s music is available online, as well as her collaborative musical projects BANSHEE TWIN and Roberta. Insta: @st.moan / @avakostia

Elytra is a solo dance-work conceptualized, choreographed, costumed and performed by Melissa Younker with original music by Insurgent Beat Machine. Corseted in a plastic exoskeleton, this introspective and improvisational process delves into witnessed transformations. “The configurations between body and object inspire unique predicaments that dissect ideas of power and provoke an unabashed crave for change”. Melissa Younker (she/her) is a Salt Lake City based artist with a multifaceted dedication to dance. Her experimental approach combines her multi-disciplinary experiences to create solo, ensemble, site-specific, video, and theatrical performances. Melissa's dance-work Elytra premiered as a 4 hour durational performance in Albeit Liminal (April 2023) and will be shown for the first time as an adapted 12 minute solo.

NOTE: The Main Library's Rooftop Terrace is closed for renovations.
Salt Lake City's Main Library, designed by internationally-acclaimed architect Moshe Safdie in conjunction with VCBO Architecture, opened in February 2003 and remains one of the most architecturally unique structures in Utah. This striking 240,000 square-foot structure houses more than 500,000 books and other materials, yet serves as more than just a repository of books and computers. It reflects and engages the city's imagination and aspirations. The structure embraces a public plaza, with shops and services at ground level, reading galleries above, and a 300-seat auditorium.
A multi-level reading area along the Glass Lens at the southern facade of the building looks out onto the plaza with stunning views of the city and Wasatch Mountains beyond. Spiraling fireplaces on four floors resemble a column of flame from the vantage of 200 East and 400 South. The Urban Room between the Library and the Crescent Wall is a space for all seasons, generously endowed with daylight and open to magnificent views.
