Local artists perform or present short works in a variety of media, including music, dance, film, and spoken word. Held the third Sunday of each month.
As a recording artist known for using the saxophone with electronic effects, Teddy P is featured on multiple studio albums as a leader, sideman, and collaborator. Releases as a leader include Retrogression, Where the Cats Are, and Ted Ep which feature Teddy's original modern jazz compositions and improvisations. Teddy performs regularly in and around his home base of Salt Lake City, Utah, at venues such as Kilby Court, University of Utah Libby, Old Cuss, the Salt Palace Convention Center, The Depot, Platinum Music and Sports Collectibles, and The Grand America.
Confused Blood (혼혈), directed by James Cutler, depicts a mixed-race Korean man wandering Seoul trying to make sense of his place in the world in a film that considers cultural identities and navigates an in-between space of documentary and narrative. James Cutler is an Utah-born director, writer, cinematographer, and composer whose works focus on exploring identity and origin through surreal, narrative fiction.
Hunter Rowe and Becca Speechley will perform a piece entitled Thank you for watching. Hunter Rowe and Becca Speechley are multidisciplinary artists based in Salt Lake. After attending the University of Utah's modern dance program together, they have sporadically explored what it means to casually create as friends. Previous collaborations include: “Our right hearts”; a tender piece presented at Queer Spectra Arts Festival in 2022, “Velcro straps and cereal box prizes”, and an untitled work that involved doing donuts in a parking garage and chugging Capri Suns. In our creative practices we are dedicated to testing the limits of time based performance and we will likely keep trying to find out what that means.
12 Minutes Max is dedicated to the memory of our dear friend and colleague Paul Reynolds: artist, librarian, and patron of the arts. 12 Minutes Max is a curated monthly performance series featuring experimental short works by local artists in many different disciplines, including dance, music, film, and more. Each piece is followed by a Q&A with the artist. 12MM is modeled after the program originated by On the Boards in Seattle.
This event takes place on the third Sunday of each month.

NOTE: The Main Library's Rooftop Terrace is closed for renovations.
Salt Lake City's Main Library, designed by internationally-acclaimed architect Moshe Safdie in conjunction with VCBO Architecture, opened in February 2003 and remains one of the most architecturally unique structures in Utah. This striking 240,000 square-foot structure houses more than 500,000 books and other materials, yet serves as more than just a repository of books and computers. It reflects and engages the city's imagination and aspirations. The structure embraces a public plaza, with shops and services at ground level, reading galleries above, and a 300-seat auditorium.
A multi-level reading area along the Glass Lens at the southern facade of the building looks out onto the plaza with stunning views of the city and Wasatch Mountains beyond. Spiraling fireplaces on four floors resemble a column of flame from the vantage of 200 East and 400 South. The Urban Room between the Library and the Crescent Wall is a space for all seasons, generously endowed with daylight and open to magnificent views.
