This winter, help Highland High School’s food-insecure students by donating food and home items. Visit the Library and take a tag from the Giving Tree with a list of needed items. Your donations will help stock Highland High’s campus food pantry.
These Giving Trees, built by Highland High art students, will be up during December and January at the Sprague Firehouse Express and Anderson-Foothill Branches.

Light up your mind this January with The City Library’s Winter Reading Program! Kids up to age 12 are challenged to do seven hours of reading in the month of January and track their progress.
Applications are now open for a garden bed in The Plot—the Main Library's community garden! The Plot lets you grow, sow, and share using sustainable gardening practices.

Now you can stay connected on the go with a City Library Wi-Fi Hotspot! A Hotspot is a device that lets you connect your computer, smartphone, or tablet to a wi-fi signal. You can place a hold for one of our Hotspots, pick it up at your favorite City Library location, and borrow it for seven days.

HUM, The City Library’s free local-music steaming service, has reached 100 albums! This fall, the catalog has been updated with 19 new albums from a diverse group of local artists representing all sorts of genres. Hear for yourself what makes the local music scene so exciting.

The Sprague Branch closed Monday, April 1, 2019 for a full remodel. The Branch will reopen in late 2020. The City Library will continue to serve the Sugar House community at the Sprague Firehouse Express, which opened Sunday, April 28.
SPRAGUE FIREHOUSE EXPRESS
Career Online High School (COHS) offers adults who have not completed high school the opportunity to earn an accredited high school diploma and career certificates online. This program is completely free for students, as scholarships have been provided by The Friends of The Salt Lake City Public Library.
CAREER ONLINE HIGH SCHOOL
The City Library now offers unlimited access to The Salt Lake Tribune’s website, sltrib.com, when accessed via on-site wifi or Desktop PCs. The Tribune has taken down its subscription paywall for patrons at The City Library’s eight locations.
