Opening reception for GOD IS FOR EVERYONE, Artwork by Travis Olsen. Exhibit runs from February 20–March 30.
Artist's Statement
A spin on Kieth Harings " Art is for Everyone" - the all inclusive message of " GOD is for Everyone" is an overarching theme in the works. Christian AS you are, Christian WHERE you are. An approach to Christianity- treat Christianity not as a Country Club ( you don't have to live up to someone else's standards or even change anything in you life in order to be spiritual). The Artworks are primarily created AS sacred spaces/ prayer stations for Marginalized Christians - whether used in a Home, Office, Street Art, Hotels, Stickers on a Water Bottle,Posters, Billboards, Galleries, etc...
Most notably the Ichthys ( Christian Fish Symbol) is used but other motifs by the Artist such as Cityscapes, Landscapes & Doves are options for Interfaith/ Multi-faith & Secular peoples. Those that might find the artworks especially meaningful are: Christians with addictions, the Homeless/ Impoverished, the LGBTQIA2S+ community, Those working Abroad, Persecuted Christians globally in other countries, Those that love outdoor spaces AS sacred spaces such as National Parks for example, Those seeking Interfaith/Multi-faith interaction,or individuals questioning/ seeking Christianity.

Considered to be one of the finest Carnegie Libraries in the West, this 8,900 square foot library has two levels. Since its opening in 1918, it has been an important part of city services to Westside residents. The Chapman Branch was completely renovated, including an updated HVAC, following the collapse of the roof during 1993. A major remodel of the basement level meeting space in 2002 resulted in a much improved children's area and expanded service and collection space for adults on the ground level. A small meeting room is available for public use, and free wi-fi access is provided throughout the library. Street parking is available to the south of the building, and an external book drop is located on the east side of the building for returning library materials after hours.
