Opening reception for "Chromatic Reverie: Exploring the Spectrum of Emotion," Paintings by Jairo Dealba. Art Exhibit runs November 8, 2023–January 10, 2024.
ARTIST STATEMENT:
Color is the language I use to convey the ineffable. It is a medium through which I express the depth of human emotion, the complexity of our inner worlds, and the interplay between light and darkness. My palette is a toolbox of emotions; every stroke of paint represents a feeling, a memory, or a dream. I embrace the spectrum, from the fiery reds that ignite passion to the serene blues that whisper tranquility, and every shade in between.
In my artistic journey, I venture into the vibrant and boundless realm of abstract and colorful paintings. Each canvas becomes a portal to an inner landscape where emotions, thoughts, and experiences converge into a symphony of hues and shapes. My work is an exploration of the chromatic wilderness, a journey through the uncharted territories of the human psyche and the limitless possibilities of color.
ARTIST BIO:
Born and raised in Madrid, Spain, Jairo Dealba taught himself how to depend on the beauty of books, cartoons, and the wonders of music. Dreams became true when he was determined to live a fruitful life. Art gave birth to his own desires, such as marrying the love of his life, Taylor, and raising the most beautiful son in the world. Life was easy in its own way. He gave up on giving himself a hard time for the things he could not control. Art and life gave way to self-awareness. He won an international award for art, and has been showing consistently in multiple galleries in the state that he resides in, Utah. His work manages to bring about the brightness of life with the fact that self-awareness is the only way to understand the human experience.

This beautiful facility was designed to complement the Rose Park neighborhood with sensitivity to its site on the Jordan River Parkway. An open space plan, with a large community meeting room and outside deck area, will accommodate this growing community for many years.
The south property of the Day-Riverside Branch is home to TreeUtah's EcoGarden, a "food forest" where all members of the community can learn about urban farming and organic gardening. The Day-Riverside Branch has a meeting room available for public use that features tables, chairs, a projector screen, and a piano.
Free parking is available to the west of the building, and free wi-fi access is provided throughout the library.
